Free runs the workspace on free open models routed by the complexity router. Because that inference costs us nothing, we don't charge you for it — no trial clock, no credit card. When your work needs the frontier model catalog, that's when Team begins.
Is governance only on the paid tiers?
No. Policy checks, PII redaction, and the audit trail run on every tier, including Free. Governance is the product, not the upsell — higher tiers add the full model catalog, connectors, and compliance depth, not the baseline controls.
What counts as a "seat" on Team?
Any employee with an active seat in the workspace, whether or not they use it that month. Deprovisioned employees stop counting immediately via SCIM on Enterprise.
Can we start free and upgrade later?
Yes — that's the intended path. Pilot on Free, then add your team and the full catalog when the value is obvious, and move to Enterprise when you need SCIM, Customer-Managed Keys, and the compliance packs.
